About Me
Hello I'm Alisha Davidson and I live on the border of Herefordshire and Shropshire. I make both traditional and innovative baskets, garden structures and homeware.
Teaching is a massive part of my life as a basketmaker. I enjoy helping beginners make their first baskets on day courses and more experienced makers progress and develop their skills to become independent designer makers through the City & Guilds programme.
I work predominantly with willow, which I grow myself or source as locally as possible, I also enjoy incorporating materials I've foraged to add colour and texture to my work. The materials I use are produced with as little negative impact to the natural world as possible to ensure that what I'm creating is sustainable.
Heritage techniques are used throughout my work, I aim to create pieces that will stand the test of time whilst also incorporating innovative ideas to push the boundaries of tradition.
